What I have learned about my art from people, in more than a decade of creation. The four pillars:
- Strength: Many people who have my Wild Animals pieces have told me that they often put them in the hallway. Because the animals look back at them and give them energy to face the day.
- Healing: Some psychologists told me that they used my works in their therapies. The patients looked at the paintings while guiding their minds. Some people have written to thank me for helping them overcome depression. Through the act of observing themselves.
- Paz: Several healthcare professionals have used my paintings to decorate waiting rooms and relax patients.
- Gratitude from the heart: A mother commissioned a “Heart Tree” painting to give as a thank you to the team of cardiologists who saved her son’s life.
These four experiences were beyond my understanding. Until a specific moment in my life (August 2024), I did not fully understand my creation.
What did these people see that I didn't? What was I missing? Something must separate the forms, the beauty, the image... from curing depression.
I understood. Behind the paintings there is an emotion, a subtle story that they managed to see and that accompanies them.
I always start drawing from the bottom, usually with fear and with hesitant strokes full of nerves, that stroke discharges energy onto the next one, which is already firm and relaxed... until I reach the top, where everything is fire and energy.
I hadn't understood it until now and after a decade, I understood why I make Art, who I am and for whom:
I create art to unite and inspire people, to create connections with themselves and with nature, to create beautiful emotions. Because change begins with oneself and in one's own home.
And if we have built this in a decade, what couldn't we all do in a lifetime?
